Fashion Facts - Dr Martens
Dr Martens originated in Germany in the 1950's. The traditional shoe company R Griggs bought the patent and launched it's first Dr Martens in Britain in 1960 - an oxblood red, eight-eyelet boot. Griggs anglicised the Dr Martens name, altered the heel, added distinctive yellow stitching and trademarked the cushioned rubber soles under the name AirWair. A look that branded the Dr Martens aesthetic onto the public consciousness and over 50 years later is still a very popular choice of footwear today, they now also come in many lengths and colours .

The Polo Dress
The Polo Dress started in the men's clothing column before lengthening itself into dress status . It takes it's name from the Polo shirt which is generally credited to French tennis player Rene Lacoste who created a knit shirt with soft collar and button placket for tennis players in the early 1930's. The Polo Dress has now become a classic piece of American sportswear. Ralph Lauren and Lacoste are designers of many variations of the Polo Dress.

Dr Martens for Bon Point
Hi everyone , we are sooo excited about this collaboration as we are big fans of Dr Martens and as you probably know the kids collection had been discontinued. The good news is that they are now once again available for kids through our all time favourite kids clothes brand - the French company called Bon Point :-) . We have lots and lots of their beautiful clothing and are very excited each season when waiting for their new collections to be launched. November Rain Dress
The November Rain dress was born in the video for the Guns and Roses song - November Rain. It was worn by Stephanie Seymour who ended up dating Axl Rose. The dress has a conventional bodice with sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder with short puffed sleeves. The skirt is unconventional, being a micro mini in front and long in the back making it perfect for the rock and roll video. It was designed by Carmela Sutera and replicas of the dress are still popular today

Hi everyone , no sunshine today but still warm and pleasant to be on this beautiful yacht called Zephyr which has sailed from Dublin to Arklow, then on to Dummore East and is now docked in Crosshaven and contemplating a relaxing sail to Kinsale. Rambling Rose
Hi everyone, just had a beautiful day rambling along the pier in Dunlaoghaire. We snacked at the farmers market in The People's Park. Had lunch on the pavilion from Gourmet Burger and finished off of course with an ice cream in Teddy's Today's dress is from a kids clothing company we love called Imps and Elves.

Ossie Shoe
The Ossie shoe was designed by Manolo Blahnik. The above sketch is for one of the fanciful shoes that accompanied Ossie Clsrks 1972 couture collection. British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman was a big fan of Manolos shoes and once said ' If God had wanted us to wear flat shoes, he wouldn't have invented Manolo Blahnik.' These shoes also became coveted favourites of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex in the City. I don't own a pair but rumour has it that they are not the most comfortably shoes to wear ?? If you do own a pair of Blahniks feed back on comfort factor would be much appreciated . Hope you enjoy a beautiful day today. xxx

Campari Mary Janes
These high heeled Campari Mary Janes were designed by Manolo Blahnik in 1994. Despite having no formal training Manolo Blahnik quickly rose to celebrity status when many of his beautiful shoes were worn by the fashion obsessed characters in the tv series Sex in the City. Despite the above Campari design being nearly 20 years old, they are still being manufactured to satisfy constant demand . It's a contemporary urban bag with an eye on the past as it harps back to the copious 'poacher bags ' It comes in different colours and variations, the one in the above picture is in a warn oak colour made from soft buffalo leather showing it's roots in the English Saddlery tradition . The Sari
The Sari can often have up to 9 yards of beautiful fabric. The word Sari comes from a Sanskrit word meaning 'strip of cloth' and it is is often made in spectacular fabrics in glowing colours and embellished with jewels or mirrors and bordered with beautiful patterns made with gold or silver threads . Bollywood movies have made the Sari more familiar in western society but it has not really made much headway in western culture. Elizabeth Hurley, Angelina Jolie and Helen Mirren have all worn the Sari to great effect .
