The Baby Doll Dress has a high waist and  full short skirt, often embellished with bows or lace trims and usually comes in white or light pastel colours.  The purpose of The Baby Doll Dress is to look infantilised and sexualised at the same time. The focus is on the boobs and legs while obscuring the waist, making  the wearer look younger.  The Baby Doll exaggerates the length of the legs.  Shiny lip gloss and copious false eyelashes work well with this look.  Twiggy, Deschanel and Kate Middleton have worn this style dress

The Mary Quant

The classic  Mary Quant dress is an easy, shift like mini dress.  It was born in London in the swinging 1960's.  It was worn with bright plastic jewellery, coloured tights and square - heeled shoes and the length of this dress was well above knee level.  Mia Farrow wore it in Rosemary's Baby and Audrey Hepburn wore the Mary Quant Dress in Two for the Road .
