Diana Vreeland was an editor for both Vogue and Haarper's Bazaar magazine, collectively spanning over 30 years and also worked as a creative director for the Metropolitan Museum of Art from the
1970's through to the mid 80's. Her groundbreaking editorial work helped launch careers of many models including Twiggy and fashion designers such as Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Renta. Diana believed in finding ones own style and felt that when a woman found a dress flattering to her, that she should then have it copied many times . She wore this dress in many variations and always looked meticulous and striking with her dark black hair, Chinese Red nail polish and intense red rouge on her cheeks. She was lucky enough to have Balenciaga make the dresses for her .
